GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Regular Faculty work under the direction of their respective Division Deans and are responsible
for meeting all scheduled classes/labs/clinics and providing instruction in accordance with the
philosophy and objectives of the College and the Department Chair's approved course outline.
Regular Faculty are also responsible for using teaching methods and media designed to reach
students of varying educational and experiential backgrounds to allow each student the opportunity
to master the objectives of the course. There are two full-time positions available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Faculty/Student Interaction

- Assisting, as requested, with the development of the term class schedule and the college catalog.

- Assisting in the development and maintenance of course outlines and course syllabi.
- Assisting in textbook selection and adoption.
- Assisting with student advising and student registration.
- Maintaining a program advisory committee, as appropriate.

- Assisting with program reviews as required by appropriate agencies, e.g., NCA.

- Serving on college discipline, department, and community committees and task forces on behalf of the college.
- Assisting with Divisional activities as requested by the dean.
- Assisting with student recruitment as appropriate.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of alternative modes of instructional delivery, e.g., Internet or ITV, as appropriate.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the dean, the VPES and/or the College President.
- Recommend instructional materials, textbooks, appropriate instructional equipment, and the Library supportive reference materials.
- Promote equal opportunity education within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
- Maintain required credentials, licenses, certification as appropriate, and proficiency and up-to-date knowledge in the subject matter area.
- Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Mathematics
- One year teaching experience at the post-secondary/college level full-time, or two years teaching experience at the post-secondary/college level part-time, or three years teaching experience at the high school level either part-time or full-time
- Experience teaching mathematics at the college level
- Teaching experience in the calculus sequence, college algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, math for liberal arts or math for elementary school teachers, or statistics
- Experience with or willingness to apply alternative and interactive teaching methodologies
- Experience and willingness to use technology in the classroom or in online instruction
- Experience and willingness to interact and build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels
- Experience in carrying a complex team project to completion
- Experience in development of course curriculum in mathematics
SALARY $3,183.05 per month, non-negotiable
FRINGE BENEFITS
Full-time administrative positions receive paid annual
